5 Amazing Ways to Ensure Your Child a Good Night's Sleep

If you are a parent, you know very well the importance of a good night’s sleep for your little one. If the child hasn’t slept well, he/she will be cranky and irritable throughout the next day. And that’s no fun for them as well as you. In fact, children who are sleep deprived have attention and learning problems as they grow up.

So, to help you ensure a good night's sleep for your child, we have come up with five amazing ways that you can start using today. Soon, you will be watching the peaceful sight of your child deep in slumber.

1.       Make a bedtime routine for the entire family-  a daily bed-time routine not only benefits the children but also helps the adults. Start this routine practice half an hour before bed-time, so that your children know that it's going to be bedtime soon. This could involve taking a shower, brushing teeth, changing into pyjamas, reading bedtime stories and finally saying a prayer. Children would love these few minutes with you and look forward to this time every night.

2.       Say no to electronics- At least an hour before bedtime, all your gadgets need to be switched off. Don't get the children's mind activated by letting them watch television or play games on your phone.

3.       Comfort- See to it that your children are comfortable in their rooms and their beds. Many a time, the baby bed may be too big or small for the little ones and hence not letting them sleep during the night. So, see to it that they have a comfortable space with cosy blankets, soft pillows and their favourite stuff toys to keep them company throughout the night. Keep their room dim, quiet and cool.

4.       Get enough exercise during the day- Kids who tire themselves out during the day tend to get a sound sleep during the night. So, have a lot of physical activities during the day. A physically tired child is sure to sleep within a few minutes of putting him/her to bed.

5.       Keeping his/her guarding teddy next to him- Hear out all your children’s fears. Make them feel that you are just a room away from them. Keep their favourite teddy or toy near them to protect them from monsters.

Along with the ideas mentioned above, you can come up with many of your creative ways to ensure that your child gets a good night’s sleep. And once they fall asleep there is no sight as soothing and peaceful as watching them sleep.
