About Yas Marina Circuit

The Yas Marina Circuit is designed by Hermann Tilke, an engineer, professional circuit designer, and racing driver. Plans to build the 5.5 km circuit were first announced in 2006, and the circuit was completed in October 2009. Hermann Tilke has also designed various other racing circuits, including the Bahrain International Circuit, home to the F1 Bahrain Grand Prix. The Yas Marina Circuit is also the second racing circuit to be created in the Middle East, the first one being the Bahrain International Circuit. The first race to be ever held in the Yas Marina Circuit, was the two-day GP2 Asia Series test. Then in late 2009, the circuit hosted its first F1 Abu Dhabi GP. Since then, the Yas Marina Circuit has hosted a total of 13 F1 Grand Prix Racing Championships, and numerous other motorsport championships, like - FIA Formula 2, FIA Formula 4 UAE, Asian Le Mans, Gulf Radical Cup, Yas Super Street Challenge, to name a few.

The Yas Marina Circuit has come to be considered one of the most technologically advanced and beautiful racetracks in the world. In 2021, ahead of the F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2021, the race track of Yas Marina Circuit got a few changes that made its racing experience more thrilling.

 

F1 Championships at Yas Marina Circuit

The circuit was inaugurated in 2009; this was also the year when it hosted its first F1 Grand Prix. It was in June 2008, during the 62nd season of the F1 world championship, that the world found out about the F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The FIA (Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile) had released the provisional calender of F1 racing championships of 2009. In the calendar, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix was listed as the final round of that year’s championship. Since then, the Abu Dhabi GP has been the season finale for all Formula 1 seasons. So, every year since 2009, the Yas Marina Circuit hosts the F1 Abu Dhabi GP near the end of the year, in the month of November or December. Also, the first F1 race held at the Yas Marina Circuit was a day-night race. Interestingly, it was also the first-ever day-night race of Formula 1. Since then, the Abu Dhabi GP has always conducted day-night F1 races and has become renowned for it.

Out of the 13 Grand Prix that Yas Marina Circuit has hosted till 2021, 5 have been won by the British racing champion Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes. Mercedes, as a constructor, has won 6 Grand Prix titles at Abu Dhabi GP. In 2021, Max Verstappen of Red Bull Racing, created history for himself by winning the Abu Dhabi GP, as it was his first World Drivers' Championship victory. All You Need to Know About the F1 After-Race Concerts of Abu Dhabi GP 2022

 

The Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is only six months away and its excitement is already through the roof. The world championship in itself is thrilling and intense, but the Yas Marina Circuit makes it even more exhilarating. Along with the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi GP, the Yas Marina Circuit brings fun and amusing events like the F1 Fanzone, Pit Lane Walks, and the After-Race Concerts. And besides the championship, the F1 Yasalam After-Race Concerts are one of the most anticipated events conducted at the Yas Marina Circuit. Read on to know more about them.

What are the F1 Yasalam After-Race Concerts?

Each year, during the weekend of Formula 1 Abu Dhabi GP, the Yas Marina Circuit hosts live concerts featuring performances by world-renowned artists. These concerts are conducted during the evening, after each day’s races, at the Etihad Park. The Formula 1 championship is hosted from Friday to Sunday. But since the Yas Marina Circuit’s F1 events begin on Thursday, the first Formula 1 Abu Dhabi concert is also conducted on Thursday evening. So, a total of four live concerts are conducted during the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi GP.

How to Attend the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Concerts of 2022?

The Formula 1 After-Race Concerts of Yas Marina Circuit are open to all the ticket holders of the F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix event. However, the type of ticket you hold will decide the concerts you can attend. Here is how:

The Yas Marina Circuit has several different ticket options for attending the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi GP 2022. These tickets differ in terms of the different seating venues of the circuit, from where you can watch the races. They also differ in terms of the number of days of the championship you wish to attend. For instance, if you wish to attend the races on Saturday and Sunday, you can choose a ticket for those days at a venue of your choice (there are 13 to choose from). This ticket will also grant you entry to the F1 Yasalam After-Race Concerts on Saturday and Sunday, which are the days of your tickets. In addition, it will also give you admission to the concert on Thursday evening.

The concert on Thursday (17 November) is open to all ticket holders, regardless of the number of days the ticket covers. So, even if you have a ticket for just one day, say Friday, you can attend the concerts on both Thursday and Friday evenings.

Who Is Performing in The Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Concerts of 2022?

The four after-race concerts of Formula 1 in Abu Dhabi will feature four eminent artists or bands. The Swedish supergroup, Swedish House Mafia will be performing in the concert taking place on Friday, 18 November. The artists for the rest of the three concerts have not yet been declared.

Delightful Experiences to Indulge in at the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2021

The Yas Marina Circuit is hosting the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in December 2021, beginning the end of this year with an event that will be high on adrenaline and excitement. The Formula 1 World Championship event will run from 9 December to 12 December. 1. The Formula 1 Races

The Formula 1 championship will have multiple races over the weekend, spread out in three days. Even after the races finish for the day, the entertainment will not end there. Each venue of the Yas Marina Circuit has a dedicated Oasis area, which will be the venue for off-track entertainment. 4. Track Walks

Due to the COVID-safety guidelines and restrictions, this time, there will be no Pit Walks for the visitors; instead, there will be Track Walks. 5. Yasalam After-Race Concerts

Each day of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend will end with a live concert featuring some of the best artists from across the world. There will be four Yasalam Live Concerts, each night from 9 - 12 December. Also, one F1 ticket will give access to only one of the concerts.
